Argentina Photo Workshops

We are not a Tour Operator, nor a Travel Agency, but rather a network of Photography and Tourism Professionals who offer their knowledge and expertise during Travel Photography Workshops. That said, we rely on the best national Tour Operators to organize the logistics of the activities.

The team, in continuous evolution, is composed of some of the best Professional Photographers in Argentina and Experts in Travel Photography.

Each of our photographers speaks Spanish. Some of them speak English and Italian fluently. Please consult us for other languages.

About the Photo Tours / Workshops

Photographers of all levels are welcome. Non-photographers, spouses, and friends are welcome to join, as well.

Generally up to a maximum of 9 people, but it depends on the type of workshop. In some cases, with a higher level of difficulty, the group will be smaller. Since our groups are small, the guiding photographer can easily manage everyone’s needs.

Each of our workshops follows a different theme, from Landscape to Portrait, Wildlife, Documentary Photography, etc… Sometimes if the itinerary and activities allow it, a mix of several genres.

We usually get up early in the morning and finish the day late. During a Travel Photography Workshop you will learn from the direct experience of a professional photographer, who will assist you throughout the journey. There will always be an analysis of the work done and you will be able to clear any doubts you may have about photography.

Although we devote most of our time to photography, we will also have the opportunity to relax and enjoy other aspects of the journey.

In the description of each Travel Photography Workshop, you will also find the level of fitness difficulty. We are always available to clear up any doubts you may have.

After booking and sending the initial deposit of 30%, we will confirm your spot and begin correspondence with you by email.

You will also receive a PDF with a detailed list to prepare the journey, the equipment you should consider taking with you, daily itineraries, data about the activities we are going to perform, contact numbers .etc. We will also contact you shortly before departure to make sure everything is in order and answer all your last-minute questions.

Usually, we meet at our arrival hotel or sometimes at the airport depending on the workshop schedule. After settling into the hotel we will review the itinerary together and answer any question.

Accommodations and meals as indicated in the itinerary, educational materials, pre-departure information and sightseeing noted as included in the itinerary. Ground transportation during the travel photography workshop, photographer’s support and tuition, analysis of the work done, local guides, if necessary.

Air transportation and related fees (except as indicated in the itinerary), activities noted as optional in the itinerary, passport and visa expenses, medical/travel/baggage/accident/cancellation insurance, personal expenses, such as laundry, telephone calls, and alcoholic beverages, photographic equipment, tips, and any other items not specifically noted as included.

We recommend at least 2 months before the workshop start date.

However, you can book as early as you feel comfortable as long as you have received final confirmation from us that the workshop has reached the minimum necessary number of participants.

Generally the photographic itinerary is quite intense. With that said, if for example you prefer to skip a sunrise photo session and wake up later, replace an afternoon with another activity or stay up more in the night, it’s your choice.

We want you to feel free on travel. Just make sure you are ready for the time when we have to move from one place to another.

Preparing the Journey

Argentina extends from north to south along about 3700 km and therefore has different types of climate: from subtropical in the north to cold temperate in Tierra del Fuego. The central, more densely populated area is temperate.

From December to mid-February, Buenos Aires can be extremely hot and humid, with temperatures of 27-35° (80-95 F°) and an average humidity of 70°. Autumn (March-April) and Spring (October-November) are the best months to visit Buenos Aires.

The north is generally warm and easier to visit in winter, with a cooler, drier climate.

Due to the cold and difficult weather conditions, the extreme south can be difficult to visit in winter (June-August). The best months to visit Patagonia are December, February, March, and April.

Yes, it is generally a good habit.

In restaurants, it is around 10% of the amount spent, although it is not mandatory.

It depends on the type of workshop and the season. For this reason, once you have made your reservation, we will send you a list of suggestions to prepare you for the journey in the best possible way.

A medical insurance policy is mandatory for all our Travel Photography Workshops.

This type of insurance generally covers you for medical treatment, hospitalization, doctor’s visits in countries where your home base medical insurance will not.

Evacuation will cover you for transfers from remote areas to the near hospitalization center in case of an emergency or even to your home medical center if needed.

In addition we strongly recommend a travel insurance, that covers you in case of trip cancellation due to an illness, work-related issues, or other events. This is a smart way to protect your investment.

In this manner, if something happens, this insurance can include reimbursement of payments made to airlines, and other travel-related expenses.

The local currency is the Argentine Pesos, although American dollars and Euros are generally well accepted.

Bookings & Payments

The Workshop / Photo Tour is booked through a deposit of 30% of the total amount.

We accept payments via Paypal, Stripe (Credit/Debit Card and Bank Transfers), and cash.

After the reservation and initial 30% deposit are taken, you will receive an email confirmation.

We will then inform you once the minimum number of participants is reached to complete the payment and book the flights (if it is the case).

Payment in full is required at least 45 days before the start date of the activity.

Even if it is a rare event, in this case, you will get a complete refund of the amount deposited.

Cancellations & Refunds

If you need to cancel your reservation, the following policies apply:

Cancellations made by the client

• Cancellation made more than 90 days before the workshop start date: 100% refund of the deposit

• Cancellation made 60 – 90 days before the workshop start date: 50% refund of the deposit

In the event that you have already paid the total amount and need to cancel less than 60 days in advance of the start date, the following policies apply:

• If we find another person to take your place you will be refunded the total minus the deposit

• If we do not find a person to take your place there will be no refund

Cancellations made by Argentina Photo Workshops

• There will be a complete refund of the amount deposited.

Learning Photography & Gear

It’s up to you, in general, any photographic device is fine. For sure, with a DSLR or a Mirrorless, you have more chances to be creative and get better results, but a Smartphone, a Bridge, or a small compact camera will do their job too. It’s a choice that also depends on the weight you want to carry on your trip.

If you have any equipment-related questions we are available to help you.

It is not mandatory but highly recommended!

Surely for a Landscape Photography Workshop is essential, while for other types of photography is not. But when traveling there is always a chance to use it, so it’s worth carrying it around with you.

It depends on the type of workshop. In the description of each workshop, you will find a list of the “recommended” photographic equipment.

If you have other questions on the subject write to us and we will help you to find the right solution for you.

Is entirely up to you!

If you want to work with the Workshop Leader to improve your Post-Production technique, we suggest taking a laptop or tablet with you.

It will also be useful to make a backup of your images.

Accommodations

We look for unique hotels that offer cultural, historic, and/or authentic features.

Depending on the size of the group, smaller boutique hotels may have limited room inventory. Although we always look for the best accommodations, in some remote locations, we may be limited to hotels, lodges, bed & breakfasts, or branded chain hotels of lesser quality.

In most places, you’ll be able to recharge your devices at the hotel. We recommend that you bring a travel adapter with you and if you have lots of batteries to charge, a travel-sized power bar. Check out more info about the adapters you will need in Argentina here.

Meals

We recommend checking the Photography Tour / Workshop description. Some offer full board, whilst others offer only breakfast or half board.

Absolutely not. We will do our best to get you only what you need and not compromise your health. Let us know your needs in advance so that we can coordinate the right meals for you.
